Refugees and Asylums Seekers who are Survivors of Torture.

Torture is real.

My work with survivors of torture is primarily in the refugee camps of the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Most recently, I have started to work with the Royingya refugees in Southeastern Bangladesh with a civil society organization and local university, as well as with Yemeni refugees in Djibouti. These collaborations integrate health systems strengthening and epidemiological surveillance with spiritual care.

I am working closely with academic institutions, civil society actors and global health networks to address the negative impacts of torture among refugees and asylum seekers.

Much of my work with survivors of torture also involves the complex intersections of sexuality, religion, class and gender.

Given that this work is highly sensitive I often work under a pseudonym.
